This Donut is a little faded from the poor lighting when photographing, but you get the idea. Certainly not finished. This painting of trees, shrubs and a farm house off in the distance is also in progress.

I am currently exhibiting at: Corrick's Santa Rosa, Healdsburg Center for the Arts, and Sacramento Fine Art Center. And, I was fortunate to get my small oil painting Olive Me Greek (below) into Sacramento Fine Art Center's Magnum Opus 30 Annual Juried Exhibition. Show opens on February 19th and the Artists' Reception is on Saturday, March 10 from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
Meet Bella. Bella is a 12 x 12 inch oil on canvas of Italian cypress trees near a stone wall, all within a lush garden. I just finished Bella and words can't describe how much fun I had making this painting. I was transported first to Rome, then to Sicily.

50 Faces of Emotion for the Sanchez Art Center 50 Paintings in 50 Days Exhibition. Over 60 artists, all showing 50 paintings. this was the event of the year for me! WHEW! Am I glad I am done with painting these little faces. Cannot tell you how much I stressed over this. Painted 7 basic emotions/7 paintings of each... You can tell just from looking at the 'emotions' on these faces that some days felt like a bummer of heaviness was in the air and on the tip of my paintbrush. The painting off to the right, the one that is framed, is a self portrait. It is the last painting I completed in this series. It's me in my calmest meditative mood, so blissed out to have finished this project! |
